CAASNM receives $3,000 from Washington Federal

Community Action Agency was selected as one of two New Mexico nonprofits featured in the November “Locals Know Best”Campaign.  Rick Supple, the Branch Manager at Washington Federal 1800 S Telshor Las Cruces says, “We’re excited about our Locals Know Best giving program and the opportunity it affords us to support great organizations like CAASNM. We’re expanding in New Mexico with 11 new locations and wanted to make an additional investment in our communities here.”

The ‘Locals Know Best’ initiative allows people to vote online for one of two New Mexico charities per month this fall, using their computers, tablets and mobile devices. For each vote, Washington Federal donates $5 to selected charities, up to $3,000. Although CAASNM supporters had until November 30th to vote, the agency was able to raise $3,000 in just eleven days. The funds raised will be used to support programs that build self-sufficiency for low income New Mexicans.

Agency CEO Dawn Hommer states, “CAASNM is grateful to partner with many local financial institutions and the relationship with Washington Federal is a terrific new opportunity for us.“ CAASNM would also like to extend its gratitude to its supporters, whose dedication has made this success possible.
